About:

Nicky Case built Coming Out Simulator 2014 in two weeks for the Nar8 game jam, retelling the night they came out to their parents as a fictionalised, branching conversation. It went on to a 2015 IGF finalist slot for Excellence in Narrative and a large, durable itch.io audience (4.7/5 from roughly 2,950 ratings).

Every interaction is a single tap: read the next line, or pick what you say next. Underneath that simplicity a few dozen tracked choices — what you told your boyfriend, how you answered your mother's tears, who you blamed afterward — genuinely reshape later scenes, not just the next line of dialogue. The build here is the author's own dedicated touch-friendly mobile version of the game, not the original desktop-only jam build.
