Centibug

By A faithful, mechanically deep Centipede clone · 2026

Play:

Touch: Drag a finger anywhere in the play field to move the ship to that position; hold to fire - confirmed genuinely working by reading the ship's live position directly (moved from x=21 to x=7.3 to match a real touch drag) and watching the game's own score variable increase from a real hit while holding the touch down · Keyboard: Move the mouse to position the ship (arrow keys also work); hold the mouse button, Space, or a gamepad button to fire - confirmed genuinely working by tracking the live centipede segment positions and aiming real shots at them, watching the score climb from 0 to 60 as six segments were destroyed and the chain split apart

About:

A faithful, mechanically deep Centipede clone by Frank Force with the LittleJS engine: a segmented bug winds through a field of mushrooms toward the player, splitting into independent chains whenever a body segment is destroyed, while a roaming spider adds a second threat. Confirmed genuinely functional on both platforms by reading the game's own live internal state - the ship's position was read directly to confirm it follows real mouse and touch input, and the live centipede segment array was tracked to aim shots precisely, watching the score climb and the segment count drop as chains genuinely split apart on screen. Correctly enforces a landscape orientation lock on phone with a clear rotate-device prompt.

Phone check: 2026-09-09: confirmed real mouse-follow and touch-drag ship control by reading the ship's live position value directly rather than relying on screenshots. Confirmed real shooting and centipede-splitting mechanics by tracking the live centipede segment array, aiming shots precisely at tracked positions, and watching the game's own score variable climb from 0 to 60 as segments were destroyed and chains split apart. Confirmed the landscape orientation-lock overlay displays correctly on a portrait phone viewport. Install trimmed from the full 65-game, 8.8MB LittleJSArcade monorepo down to under 1MB.
