Cat Survivors

By Elias Ku and Alexandra Al · 2025

Play:

Touch: Drag anywhere to move (a virtual joystick that follows your touch, not a fixed pad); tap a card to pick an upgrade on level-up. Confirmed working with a real held drag on a simulated touchscreen. · Keyboard: WASD or arrow keys to move; 1/2/3 to pick an upgrade card.

About:

Built for js13k 2025's 13-kilobyte size limit: auto-attacking weapons fire on their own while you steer a black cat around a field, eating XP bubbles to trigger level-up cards (knives, boomerangs, fireballs, damage auras and more) and surviving a ten-minute run against an escalating swarm.

The touch control is a drag-anywhere virtual joystick rather than a fixed pad, and it was tested directly: a held drag through a real touch pipeline moved the cat, fed it into kills and pickups, and the on-screen upgrade cards responded correctly to taps too, confirmed by watching a chosen weapon persist and level up on its next appearance. A js13k judge's own comment warns the endgame gets laggy; that wasn't reproduced in a short test but is worth expecting on a long run.

Phone check: played on a simulated phone (390x844, real held touch drag) and on desktop (mouse and held keyboard) on 7 Sep 2026 — drag-to-move and tap-to-upgrade both confirmed working; zero console errors, zero external network requests

No licence stated. Elias Ku and Alexandra Al published this game without saying how it may be reused, so it is hosted here on the strength of credit alone: their name, a link to their own release, and nothing altered but what it took to run.
