About:
Theory of Magic launched on Kongregate in 2019 and became one of the idle-RPG genre's most influential designs before its original developer, Lerpinglemur, moved on. This is Arcanum, the actively-maintained, MIT-licensed fan continuation of the same codebase, hosted here in place of the frozen Kongregate build. Already reviewed on Wanderer at 7.0/10.

Phone check: Played on a simulated phone (390x844, touch) and desktop via playtest.js. Fixed a real absolute-path bug before this loaded at all: the Vite production build hardcodes base:'arcanum', breaking both index.html's script/style references and, more seriously, the compiled bundle's own modulepreload resolver used to fetch all 26 lazy-loaded per-panel chunks. Patched to relative paths; confirmed zero console/page errors and confirmed touch (tapping a task correctly selects it and opens its detail panel). Interface is dense/cramped on a phone, consistent with the existing review's own interface score.
