Moon Buggy

By A polished Moon Patrol clone with real jump physics and aimed shooting · 2026

Play:

Touch: A virtual gamepad appears on touch: drag the left-side analog stick to aim the turret, tap the upper-right button to fire, and tap the lower-right button to jump - confirmed genuinely working via real touch input that rotated the turret, produced real bullet tracers, and lifted the buggy off the ground · Keyboard: Mouse aims the turret and right-click fires real bullet tracers toward the cursor; left-click or Space jumps - confirmed genuinely working via real dispatched input producing a real jump arc and aimed shots

About:

A clean, well-built homage to the 1982 arcade classic Moon Patrol, built by Frank Force with the LittleJS engine: the buggy auto-scrolls across cratered terrain, and the player jumps rocks/craters and shoots down attacking UFOs. Confirmed genuinely functional on both platforms using their own distinct, purpose-built control schemes - real jump physics with a visible tilt-and-rise arc, and real aimable bullet tracers, not canned animations. Includes a working Play/Options/Help menu, a persisted best-distance tracker, and a live hull/health bar.

Phone check: 2026-09-09: confirmed real jump physics (visible tilt-and-rise arc) and real aimable bullet tracers on desktop via mouse+keyboard. On phone, located and tested the virtual gamepad's exact hit zones directly from the DOM rather than guessing - left stick genuinely rotates the turret, the two right-side buttons genuinely fire and jump. Install trimmed from the full 65-game, 8.8MB LittleJSArcade monorepo down to under 1MB. No third-party analytics found (a false-positive 'amplitude' string match in the engine turned out to be audio screen-shake amplitude, not the analytics product).
